A Chateau Neercanne Wedding in timeless Black-tie fashion

Lisanne and Milan's Château Neercanne wedding was an experience that felt completely suspended in time. Right before their ceremony, we took a walk through the caves behind the chateau - the place where the EU was symbolically formed on 1991 - the year I was born. On a small part of the wall, you can see all the signatures carved on Marlstone - limestone that once, some millions of years ago, belonged to the bottom of the sea. Also before the ceremony, their first look happened in the castle's Baroque gardens, a Unesco World Heritage site.

As wedding photographers, we can't be naive enough to think that the images we create will last more than a few generations at most. But being in the presence of such obvious signs of time, of memory so well-kept, you just naturally feel the urge to create work that is not fleeting - work that feels relevant and that can acknowledge the passing of time and remain beautiful, remain meaningful even when the story itself is all but a fading memory.

As always, the wedding was fully photographed on film using both 35mm and medium format cameras and a mix of Portra 400, Portra 800, Kodak Tri-x and Ilford Delta 3200.
