“Julia Jardim is an exceptional artist and human being. She is thoughtful, meticulous, and a visionary, who made our abroad elopement more memorable than we could have ever imagined.”

“Julia is a fantastic photographer. She was so kind, detail-oriented and gave us photos that allow us to fully feel the moment over and over again”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with, and felt so comfortable with and trusting of her every step of the way”

Seeing some of the same wedding rituals being rediscovered and reimagined by those who live through them, I am enveloped in a comfortable sense of familiarity and yet surprised, again and again, by the infinite complexity of human nature and the depth of human relationships.

Julia Jardim is a wedding photographer shooting exclusively on 35mm and medium format film. She chooses analog because of the intentional, almost artisanal aspect of the process, as it gives an opportunity to slow down and removes all unnecessary noise from the creative process. The result is a photographic approach that is meaningful, honest, and of true emotional value to the people being photographed.

Julia tries to stay away from photo trends and the constant noise of ever-changing demands that the wedding industry creates. Her energy is focused, instead, on the power of human interaction and human emotion, and on creating work that will stand the test of time.

Her most common wedding destinations are Paris, the south of France, Amsterdam, Portugal, England, and Barcelona and surrounding areas.

Julia was born in Brazil. She shares her life with her partner Joana and their dog Caju, a small rescue from Romania.

Julia's images are said to be authentic, spontaneous and creative.

Why I shoot Weddings on Film

Choosing to shoot weddings on film was the most important creative decision I because analog photography represents the world in a way that feels very close to how I experience it emotionally - with nuance, nostalgia and a good dose of magic.
