A spontaneous walk around the neighbourhood after picking Knox up from school, with a quick stop at their favourite Italian cafe. I photographed Jess and Knox several times (including my first ever all-film shoot in late 2020, when the first covid restrictions were starting to lift), and each time felt magically unique, perhaps especially because, as Knox grew at an alarmingly fast pace, so did my friendship with his mom and my love for them both, and in each new shoot the images felt closer, more intimate - as if they said something about me as well, a way to trace my own time living in London just as much as it was a way to trace Knox's childhood and our collective experience with the pandemic years.
