Richmond Wedding on Film

Leah and Tom celebrated their Richmond wedding under the shade of an ancient tree. The day was glorious, one of those rare sunny days in London where the few clouds never manage to hide the sun, and their guests seemed to match the weather - there was colour everywhere you looked that day.
Their wedding felt intimate, joyous, and somehow timeless - the old glory of the manor house seemed to match the modern pops of colour of the guests in perfect harmony.

September must be one of the best times to get married in Richmond. The green looks greener than it would in the peak of summer, and the light is has a soft glow that's difficult to find in other months of the year. The chance of rain is real, perhaps, but I find that to be true in any month in London and I love my couples even more for embracing that in order to have the wedding of their dreams in a city they love.

Richmond Manor is a private house owned my a close friend of the couple, so the whole celebration had an extra touch of uniqueness to it. The cherry on top was Leah and Tom's dog, who behaved excellently during the ceremony, ran around the grounds like a happy puppy during cocktail, posed like a good boy for the couple's shoot and then proceeded to sleep for the rest of the day.

Richmond has a special place in my heart for being the oasis of green I would run to whenever I needed a break from the urban chaos of London during my years living there - both for a winter walk in nature and a way to escape the heat in summer. I still find it one of the best spots for weddings because it manages to be close to the city while maintaining an idyllic energy that you'd otherwise have to travel far to find.
