Julia Jardim is an Italy wedding photographer working exclusively on 35mm and medium format film (as well as Super8 video). Her photographic approach is primarily documentary and her images are candid, spontaneous and artistic with a strong focus on emotion.
Julia intentionally stays away from trends and wants her images, instead, to be timeless, bold, full of nostalgia and able to stand the test of time.

Photographing weddings requires a great deal of empathy and intuition. As a photographer, you are the memory-keeper - the one that gets to decide which parts of the day are going to stay and which will eventually be forgotten, especially as those who live the day get older and new generations come.
To understand that premise is to also accept that our work needs to be good enough for people to treat it as memory - it needs to be a good representation and a good reminder of how the day felt to them and how they felt that day, and it needs to be real enough, believable enough that, years from now when the memories start to fade (as they do), the work will stand in their place.
All good images will speak of their own time, but they should also remain relevant beyond their own time.
ABOUT
Julia Jardim was born in Brazil in the early 90's and spent her childhood and teenage years there, in a city almost 1000m above sea level, before moving to Portugal in her early twenties. Julia has lived in many different places in Europe ever since. While Brazil remains the country closest to her heart and identity, Julia believes all the cultures she has experienced in the past decade have helped shape and define her photographic approach in a very unique and diverse way.
With a lifelong passion for photography and a career that spans more than a decade, Julia believes in the artistic and artisanal aspect of the craft. She stays away from trends and the pressure to keep up with the industry's demands and focuses on work that is meaningful and relevant beyond the wedding photography realm - work that will be viewed and enjoyed across generations.
Julia considers an image to be good when it is authentic, unexpected, honest and unique.
